+ What are your prices?
Please refer to our services page for a guide on pricing. Cost can vary depending on thickness, length and colour history. If you are unsure on what you need, we recommend coming in for a consultation to have a detailed chat with one of our friendly stylists.
+ Do you offer free consultations?
Yes, we offer 30 minute complimentary consultations. During this appointment we will assess you hair condition, discuss your colour goals and provide a detailed quote.
+ Do I need to confirm my appointment?
Yes, you need to confirm your appointment. Confirmation text messages are sent out 3 days prior. Appointments not confirmed within 24 hours of the booking will result in an automatic cancellation. Fees apply.
+ Do you have a cancellation policy?
As a boutique small business, cancellations affect us greatly, therefore your 20% deposit will be forfeited and a $50 fee will apply if; Client cancels within 24hrs or reschedules on the day of appointment, or, client does not show up to appointment. Cancellations that occur 24hrs or more prior, will result in your deposit becoming a credit on your account. Booking deposits are NOT refundable.
+ Do you require a deposit on appointments?
Yes, new clients and all online bookings require a 20% deposit to secure the appointment.
+ Are you open late nights?
Yes, we trade until 8pm on Tuesday, and 9pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
+ Do you have parking available?
Yes! We have free onsite parking with no time limit.
+ How long will my appointment take?
Timing can vary depending on which service you are booked in for. Our services are all inclusive and require a blow dry to finish so we can see the final result. Lightening appointments can take anywhere from 3-4.5 hours, global colours take around 2-2.5 hours and cutting & styling appointments take around 45 min-1 hour. We respect that our clients time is valuable and aim to complete services in a timely manner, whilst providing a high quality outcome. We have complimentary wifi available and plenty of space to bring your laptop along to do work if needed.
+ How many sessions will it take to achieve my desired colour?
This can vary for everyone, as no two clients will have the same hair journey. We will do our best to provide an estimate, however this can change as there are many factors that need to be considered. If your hair is virgin, you can usually expect 1-2 sessions. If your hair is box coloured, damaged or fine, you may require 3-4 sessions to prevent damage. We will go over risks and expections with you prior to any colouring, to ensure you are happy to begin your dream hair journey.
+ I'm worried about damage, what treatments do you use?
All lightening services come with our 3 step Olaplex treatment. Olaplex reforms the bonds in your hair that are broken by bleaching. Thus, your hair will remain strong and healthy throughout the entire lightening process. Alternatively, we also offer a first of its kind peptide in-basin treatment that will permanetley reverse damage in just 4 minutes. This can be added onto any cutting, blow-dry or colour services.
+ Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
No. Please don't bring friends, family or kid/s to your appointment. Our salon space is quite small and we do not have room for extra people in the salon. We understand you may need to bring your child/ren, however distractions can cause us to run behind and frequent moving around can cause colour bleeds. We kindly ask you organise care prior to your appointment to allow us to give you the best experience possible.

At BLKAVE, we work with only the best quality haircare & colour brands. We carry Eleven Australia, Kevin Muprhy, Teknia & Olaplex retail products, and work with Redken Shades EQ, Lakme Colour and Pravana.
